John Hantz - Interim Worship LeaderJohn Hantz was born in Lubbock, Texas but spent the majority of his childhood and teen years growing up in Rapid City, South Dakota, and Kenai, Alaska respectively. He has always loved and been involved with music from as early as when his father played guitar and sang to him when John was in his mother’s womb, to school choirs, and bands from elementary through high school, all the while using his gifts in the local churches he attended. He was saved and became the church pianist at First Baptist Church of Kenai at age 13 where he grew as a believer and served for 5 years. John left Kenai, Alaska after high school to attend Southeastern College at Wake Forest where he met his wife Dawn who matriculated at the same time but from a different region of the U.S. entirely; namely, Gloucester, VA. They met shortly after their first semester began, were engaged six months later, and married on September 4th, 2004. John served as Minister of Music and Youth at Fishing Creek Baptist Church in Warrenton North Carolina while taking undergraduate classes at Southeastern Seminary. John and Dawn have one daughter, Melody, who was born in May of 2009 in Helena, Montana where John was employed with the Federal Aviation Administration as an Air Traffic Control Specialist. After living in Montana for more than a year, and then Boise, Idaho for two years (while working with the FAA) John desired to get back into doing what he loved most which is music ministry. God‘s providence has brought them back to Dawn’s home town of Gloucester, and to Petsworth Baptist Church where she was saved as a teenager. Pat Eastwood - Church Secretary
