OUR LEADERSHIP

Senior Pastor John Pouchot

After serving at Petsworth from  2002 to 2003 as an associate pastor, Pastor John returned to Petsworth in 2016 as senior pastor.  From 2003 to 2015 he served as the lead pastor for Poquoson Baptist Church.

John and his high school sweetheart, Tracy, have 3 children – John Montgomery, Molly Grace, and Lily Young that are separated by 22 years (because God’s timing is not our timing!)  Outside of his salvation in Christ – John views his greatest gift as his family and treasures the time he is with them.  He is thankful for the heritage and legacy of faith given to him by his own parents.

John is an avid cross-country and track and field fan having competed on the prep and collegiate levels.  In 2009 he was inducted into the Gloucester High  School Sports Hall of Fame and has coached at times even while engaged in ministry.

Loving the local church – seeing individuals embrace the truth of Scripture in obedience – and sharing the good news through preaching, teaching and personal witness are John’s ministry passions.

John is a graduate of Gloucester High School (Go Dukes!), the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!), and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (no mascot)

Daniel Naff, Director of Student Ministries

Daniel was born and raised in Virginia. He is one of four children with one brother and two sisters. He was raised in a home that prioritized loving the Lord, loving each other, and being a part of the church.  He joined the United States Navy in order to serve his country and continues to serve.

It was through the encouragement of our previous youth minister and friend that Daniel accepted the calling to prepare for his ministry by going to college. He is currently pursuing a degree in Ministry at Liberty University.

Daniel married his high school sweetheart, Laurie in 2005. The Lord has blessed Daniel and Laurie with three sons, Luke, Liam and Landry and one daughter, Lilah. Together, Daniel and Laurie share a heart for seeing students and children develop a deeper relationship with God.
Daniel enjoys spending time with his family, sports, and going to the lake.
