Youth Ministry

The Youth Ministry of Petsworth Baptist Church exists in order for 7th-12th graders to become and build disciples of Christ. This ministry seeks to reach the world with the Good News of Jesus Christ and invite them to plant their lives in the local church. We seek to develop these new believers into committed followers of Christ on Sunday mornings, Sunday and Wednesday nights, as well as through multiple conferences, retreats, mission projects and fellowships throughout the year.

Sunday School for Sr. High and Jr. High is at 9:45 AM. Students will develop relationships with fellow students and teachers, but more importantly they will spend time diving into the major beliefs of the Christian faith.

Growth Groups is a small group ministry designed to grow students in realizing true life-lasting Spiritual intimacy with Christ through in-depth Bible study, Scripture memorization, accountability and prayer. These groups meet from September – May on Sunday evenings from 5-7:00 PM.

Crossover, on Wednesday nights, is our outreach event from 6-7:45 PM. This gives students a place to bring their friends that will both show them the love of Christ relationally and encourage them to receive the Gift of Salvation that He offers. We serve pizza and drinks, play games and the band leads us in a couple of songs which then leads into a Bible-based talk that always presents the Gospel.

The purpose of our student ministry is to grow up a generation of truly Christian young adults who know how to study God’s Word and apply it in a lifestyle of surrender and obedience to God. We provide opportunities for leadership in ministry to the church, community and world. We desire to partner with parents in helping develop a generation of Biblically founded, Spirit empowered witnesses for Christ.
