David Edgell, the son of a carpenter, was born in Northwest Kansas in a little town called Quinter on Jan 9, 1966. He is married to Suleah Hunter Edgell. They have two children, Truett and Shelby.
David moved to Texas in 1985 where he was saved and called into ministry. He attended Criswell College in Dallas, TX, where he graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies. During his time in college, he served on the staff of First Baptist Church in Dallas as an education intern. He and Suleah were married in August of 1989 and were privileged to have Dr. W. A. Criswell perform their wedding ceremony.
David and Suleah moved to Wake Forest, NC, in 1992 for David to attend Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He later graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in 1995. While attending school David began work as the Minister of Education at Hephzibah Baptist Church in Wendell, NC, where he served for 14 years.
David is currently working on his Doctor of Education degree at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Rev. Brian D. White

Brian David White was born in Mckeesport, PA on October 19, 1976. His family moved to Virginia when he was four years old. They have lived in Seaford, Virginia for most of his life. He was saved at Bible Baptist Church in Poquoson, Virginia in March of 1984. Most of his spiritual life was formed at Seaford Baptist church where Brian got his feet wet in ministry. After graduating from York High School, Brian attended Christopher Newport. During his first years at college Brian became a Student Ministry volunteer at Seaford. In 1998 he transferred to Liberty University where he received a Bachelors of Science in Communications.
While at Liberty he was part of a band named Key to Life. God had other plans though. He was called to be Assistant Youth Pastor back at Seaford Baptist. It was then that God revealed the calling on his life and also his life mate, Jerilyn. They were married on June 7, 2003. Shortly after their wedding they moved to North Carolina to continue schooling at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Brian has a Masters of Arts in Biblical Counseling. It was while they were living in North Carolina that God paved the way for their ministry at Petsworth Baptist. They began their ministry at Petsworth in July of 2004 and look forward to many more years. They have been blessed with the birth of their first child, Cadance Layne in September of 2006.

Sharon Shipley
Director of Childhood Education
Sharon Shipley was born in Forth Worth, Texas. She is the daughter of Southern Baptist Missionaries, Donald and Mary Anne Davis. When she was 8 years old she made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized by her father. Sharon learned Spanish while she was growing up on the mission field in a small country in South America called, Uruguay. Sharon worked in children’s ministries and music ministry while on the mission field with her parents. Later, she attended Chowan College in Murfreesboro, N.C., where she met her husband, Michael Shipley. At Chowan College she was the Vice-President of the Baptist Student Union and was involved with many mission trips with the B.S.U. In 1989, Sharon graduated from Chowan College, and married Michael. They have two children, Justin and Rachel Shipley. Sharon has worked with children’s ministries at Orcutt Baptist Church in Newport News and at El Camino Baptist Church, Gloucester, VA. She taught Spanish at Ware Academy for 7 years, from Pre-School through the 8th grade (2003-2010). After 3 years of intense coursework in a study abroad graduate program, she graduated in 2009, with her Master of Arts in Spanish Education from Southern Oregon University. She is currently teaching Spanish to our weekday preschoolers twice a week.

Rudy Waters
Adult Choir Director
Rudy was born and raised in Roanoke Rapids, N.C. and left home at the age of eighteen to attend the Newport News Shipbuilding Apprentice School. He graduated from the Apprentice School with honors as a Piping Designer in 1968. He worked for forty years at the shipyard, having served as an Engineering Supervisor for the last nineteen years in the Aircraft Carrier Engineering Division. He retired from the yard on June 30, 2004. Rudy and Ann Miller of Syringa, Virginia were married in June 1965.
They have two married sons, Billy and Bobby. Billy, his wife Cathe and son Andrew live in Virginia Beach. Bobby and his wife Nicole live in Williamsburg. Rudy and Ann have lived in Gloucester since 1969 and have been members of Petsworth since June 1997. They were both saved in 1970 and have served the Lord in numerous capacities since that time. Rudy serves as the Adult Choir director and song leader. Ann is the church pianist and a Sunday School teacher.
